Hello, I'm Angela Mills.   

I'm a Pilates instructor, personal trainer, nutrition and Menopause coach based in Blue Mountains, Australia.  I've been serving busy women aged 40-60 for over 15 years, helping them find balance and reclaim their health.

As someone who's been through menopause, I know how crucial it is to prioritize self-care and develop healthy habits for a long, healthy life.  My mission is to help busy women find balance and reclaim their body and their sanity. 

With the Fit and Fabulous Online membership, you can make small daily changes that set you up for long-term success.  These bite-sized changes to your week are more likely to give you sustainable results than drastic lifestyle changes .

My online membership is very affordable, it doesn't require any fancy equipment other than a fitness mat and gentle enough that you can build up to doing 15-25 minutes on most days.

Why do we need a different approach to fitness after 40?

Midlife is challenging on the body in many ways.  As estrogen levels drop we start to lose elasticity in our muscles (which is why pelvic floor issues and loss of muscular tone are so common at this life stage) and our ligaments and tendons become tougher and more prone to tearing (which is why we also become more injury prone).  

No one wants to be forced into Senior fitness classes before they need to, but we have to reassess what has worked in the past and be smarter in our approach to fitness. It is possible to continue your favourite sports and to exercise with impact at intensity if you have always done so.  Good restorative practices are vital at this life stage, as well as movement that focuses on our core strength, building muscle, maintaining full mobility and heart health (get those walking shoes out)!

Fit and Fabulous Online focuses on the following vital aspects of movement: Core Strength and Posture; Flexibility and Mobility; Mindset and Body Awareness.  The workouts are adaptable, lower in impact and pelvic floor safe.  Many of our workouts are also osteoporosis friendly.  They allow you to take it easy on those days when you need to unwind and destress, and challenge yourself more  when you feel more energised.

Core Strength & Posture

Our core is more than just our abdominal muscles. It includes our pelvis and our whole torso. When this does not move well, our limbs don't move well. A core workout will include lots of foundational moves to help us stand and move better.

Without core strength we lose our posture as we age and we are vulnerable to injuries and to falls. Our ability to build strength elsewhere in our body is also limited.

Flexibility & Mobility

Midlife is when we start to notice changes to how we feel in our body. We may feel stiffer in the mornings, start to move slower or we take longer to recover from injuries. We may be getting injured more frequently.

A more flexible body has been called the fountain of youth. It is our mobility, how we use that flexibility that allows us to move freely and efficiently, and stay quick and powerful as we age.

Mindset & Body Awareness

Our hormones can play havoc with our mood and cognitive clarity.  There is significant evidence that a movement practice that includes breath control and controlled movement has positive cognitive, body and hormonal benefit. 

Creating a positive mindset through the right type of movement has a flow on effect to all other aspects of our wellbeing - our stress levels, our mood, our sleep and even our lifestyle and dietary choices.
